Common questions

Is it really free for large accounts too?

Yes. There are no property limits, traffic limits, or usage tiers. Whether you're monitoring one small site or twenty high-traffic properties, it's the same: free.

What counts as a GA4 property?

Each GA4 property you connect counts as one — regardless of the number of data streams (websites or apps) attached to it. If you manage ten client properties, you can connect all ten.

Does DataCanary need write access to my GA4?

No. We connect via Google OAuth with read-only analytics access. DataCanary can see your data to run checks, but cannot modify your GA4 property, tags, or account in any way.

How is my data handled?

We don't store your raw GA4 event data. DataCanary runs daily checks against your property and stores the results — counts, anomaly flags, parameter lists — not the underlying records. Your Google OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, at any time. Deleting your account removes all your connected properties, check history, and credentials from our system immediately.
