Free GA4 Monitoring

Get alerts when your GA4 tracking breaks

The problem

Tracking keeps breaking

GA4 tracking breaks silently. Events stop firing. Parameters disappear. Conversion data flatlines. And unless you're checking manually every day, you won't know until someone asks why the numbers look weird — and by then, weeks of data are gone.

"You find out your tracking broke not when it happened, but when someone asks why conversions dropped three weeks ago."

What it does

Automated monitoring, zero effort

📉

Event volume monitoring

Get alerted when an event drops to zero or falls outside its normal range — before it becomes a data gap you can't recover.

📊

Track key metrics

Ensure key metrics like users and sessions don't drop to zero or become artificially inflated.

🔍

Parameter tracking

Know immediately when a key parameter stops appearing on an event. Transaction IDs, revenue values, campaign parameters — all watched automatically.

Your data stays yours

🔒

Read-only GA4 access

We use Google OAuth with analytics read-only scope. DataCanary cannot make any changes to your GA4 property or your Google account.

🗄️

No raw data stored

We don't store your event data. We run checks against it daily and store the results — counts, aggregates, anomaly flags. Not the underlying records.

🔑

Encrypted credentials

Your Google OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption. They're used only to run your daily checks.

Common questions

The free version offers daily monitoring and core alerting. A paid tier is coming with more frequent checks, additional check types, and real-time monitoring. We will never sell your data.
Read-only access only, via Google OAuth with the analytics.readonly scope. DataCanary cannot make any changes to your GA4 property, your account settings, or your Google account. You can verify this yourself on the Google permissions screen when you connect.
No. The GA4 Data API only returns aggregated data — DataCanary never has access to individual user records or raw hit-level data. We store event counts, aggregates, and anomaly flags. Not the underlying records.
Yes. DataCanary has passed Google's OAuth verification process for sensitive scopes. Our use of analytics.readonly has been reviewed and approved by Google. The app is in Production status, not testing mode.
DataCanary uses statistical anomaly detection on a 90-day baseline. It flags events that drop to zero, fall significantly outside their normal range, or show parameters disappearing.
Daily. Checks run automatically — you don't need to do anything after setup.
Free access for the current feature set will remain available. A paid tier is coming for Slack alerts, higher check frequency, and other power user features. You won't be forced onto a paid plan for what's free today.
